Privacy Policy

Last Updated: 7 December 2025

Welcome to Peek The Look, operated by the development team ("we", "us", "our"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share your information when you use our mobile app or website (collectively, the "Services"). By using Peek The Look, you consent to this Privacy Policy.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of data:

1.1 Information You Provide

When you use our Services, you may provide:

  • Account Information: email address, password, username, and payment details.
  • Photos & Images: model photos (which may include identifiable persons) and garment images you upload for AI try-on generation.
  • Subscription & Billing Data: purchase history, transaction IDs, plan type (handled by Apple's App Store).
  • Support Communication: messages or feedback you send us.

💡 Note: We do not have access to your full payment card details—all financial transactions are processed by Apple App Store according to its own privacy and payment terms.

1.2 Information We Collect Automatically

When you use the App, we automatically collect:

  • Device Information (model, operating system, unique identifiers).
  • Usage Data (how you interact with the app and features used).
  • Log Data (IP address, timestamps, crash reports).
  • Cookies or similar technologies on the web version.

This helps us improve performance, diagnose bugs, and enhance your experience.

1.3 Generated Content & Metadata

We process your uploaded model and garment photos using our AI models to generate "try-on" results. These generated images and the underlying data are handled as follows:

  • Storage: Generated images are stored to allow you to access your try-on history.
  • Research & Improvement: We may use anonymized, aggregated data, and non-identifiable metadata to improve our AI models and algorithms.
  • Metadata Retention: We may retain certain non-image metadata (e.g., file size, upload time, usage logs) for security, fraud, and abuse prevention purposes.
  • Deletion: You can delete your generated images anytime within the app.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your data to:

  • Provide and operate the Services (e.g., generate try-on images).
  • Manage your account, billing, and subscriptions.
  • Communicate with you (service updates, technical notices, or support).
  • Improve our algorithms, performance, and user experience.
  • Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or misuse.
  • Comply with legal obligations and platform policies.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

3. AI Processing and Third-Party Providers

This section explains how your images are processed using external AI services and our policy regarding model training.

  • No Model Training by Us: We affirm that we do not use your uploaded photos, generated try-on images, or any associated data to train, fine-tune, or improve any of our own AI models.
  • AI Service Partner & Data Protection: We currently utilize the paid-tier Google Gemini API for the computational image processing required to generate try-on results. When you use a paid service like this API, Google's terms provide strong privacy protections:
    • Google's Policy: Google does not use the inputs (your photos/prompts) or the outputs (the generated try-on images) to train or improve its generative AI models.
    • Abuse Monitoring: However, Google, as the service provider, may temporarily log and retain inputs and outputs for a limited duration (e.g., up to 55 days) for abuse monitoring, security, and policy enforcement purposes, in accordance with their own terms of service. This data is separate from model training data.
  • Third-Party Responsibility: Our use of Gemini and any other third-party AI service is subject to their respective privacy and security policies, which we encourage you to review. We do not take responsibility for the data handling practices of third-party providers outside of the strict contractual terms and confidentiality agreements we have with them.
  • Future Changes: We may change our underlying AI service provider(s) in the future. We will ensure that any future provider maintains comparable contractual restrictions preventing the use of your images or data for training their models. We will update this Privacy Policy to reflect any material changes to our AI providers.

4. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR Users)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or UK, we process your personal data under the following legal bases:

  • Performance of a contract – to provide Services you requested.
  • Consent – when you upload photos or allow optional features.
  • Legitimate interests – for analytics, product improvement, and security.
  • Legal obligations – to comply with accounting, tax, or law enforcement requests.

5. How We Share Information

We may share your data with:

  • Service Providers: Cloud hosting, analytics, and AI infrastructure providers (including Google Gemini) who process your images under strict confidentiality and security agreements.
  • Payment Processors: Apple App Store for in-app purchases.
  • Legal Authorities: When required by law or valid legal request.
  • Affiliates / Successors: If our business undergoes a merger, acquisition, or reorganization (this refers to the transfer of the app itself).

All partners are bound by confidentiality and data-processing agreements.

6. Data Retention

We retain your information only as long as necessary:

  • User Photos and Generated Images: We store your photos and generated images permanently to maintain your in-app history. This content is retained until you manually delete it or until you delete your account.
  • Trial Period Data: We reserve the right to permanently delete any user photos or generated images 30 days after the conclusion of any free trial period if you have not converted to a paid subscription, or if required by law.
  • Account Data: Retained while your account is active and as required for tax/audit compliance.
  • Analytics and Metadata: Retained in anonymized form or as necessary for security/abuse prevention (see section 1.3).

When data is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymize it.

7. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures including:

  • Encrypted connections (HTTPS, SSL/TLS).
  • Secure storage and restricted access controls.
  • Periodic audits and vulnerability testing.
  • Compliance with our AI provider's security standards.

However, no system is completely secure. You use our Services at your own risk.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you have the right to:

  • Access and request a copy of your personal data.
  • Correct or delete your data.
  • Withdraw consent for processing (where applicable).
  • Object to data processing for certain purposes.
  • Request portability of your data.
  • Lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.

9. Deleting Your Photos or Account

You can delete:

  • Individual try-on photos within the app interface.
  • Your entire account from the account settings menu or by emailing peekthelook@gmail.com.

Upon deletion, your data and images are permanently removed from our servers within 90 days.

10. Children's Privacy

Our Services are not intended for users under 16 years old (or the age required by your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If we become aware that a child has provided us personal information, we will delete it immediately.

11. International Data Transfers

We may process data on servers located in any countries or through global service providers (including our AI provider) outside your jurisdiction, such as in the United States. Where applicable, we ensure adequate safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) under GDPR, are in place to protect your data.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically, including changes required by our AI service providers or applicable law. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date and notify you via the App or email. Your continued use of the Services after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
